Full tuition waiver, free on-campus accommodation, medical insurance, monthly living stipend (for Master & PhD students the stipend is higher; for example PhD ~ RMB 3,500/mo) Pakistani citizenship, age limit (< 35 for Master, < 40 for PhD), relevant degree, English or Chinese proficiency as required. Under Tianjin Government Scholarship: Bachelor’s, “First Prize”: tuition subsidy (≈ ¥20,000 RMB), living allowance ~ ¥1,400/month for 10 months, + medical insurance. Master’s, “First Prize”: tuition subsidy ~ ¥30,000 RMB, living allowance ~ ¥1,700/month (10 months), + medical insurance. Requirements & Eligibility (For Pakistan, Master / PhD) Here are the specific requirements you will need to meet: Nationality: Must be Pakistani or from Azad Jammu & Kashmir. Dual nationality often not allowed. Academic Qualifications: For Master: Bachelor’s degree (16 years of education). For PhD: A Master’s degree (MS / MPhil) or equivalent. Age Limit: Master: ≤ 35 years. PhD: ≤ 40 years. Language Proficiency: If program is taught in Chinese: Need HSK Level 5 (score 180+). If program is in English: Usually TOEFL ≥ 80 or IELTS ≥ 6.0, or proof that your previous degree was taught in English. Standardized / Local Test Requirement: For CGS via HEC, applicants must also provide a HAT (Higher Aptitude Test) or USAT score (for undergraduate / graduate degrees). For Master / PhD, HAT is needed. Minimum score 50/100. Other Documents: Transcripts, degree certificates, CNIC, domicile, etc. Letters of recommendation (often 2) for Master/PhD. Research proposal / study plan especially for PhD. Proof of health / physical fitness. 📅 Deadlines & Application Steps (for 2025-26 & TJU Silk Road / CSC) The Chinese Govt Scholarship Program via HEC for 2025-26 had a deadline of 9 December 2024 in Pakistan. For the Tianjin University Silk Road Program, the deadline was 6 May 2025. Application periods often open in early months of year (Spring) and close by May or around mid-year, depending on program. Action Steps for You To improve your chance of success, here are things you should do: 1. Decide on your field and university program (which department, what research topic if PhD) and check that TJU (or other Chinese universities) offers that program. 2. Check whether the program is taught in English or Chinese, so you know which language test you need to prepare for (HSK5, TOEFL, etc.). If it’s Chinese-taught, start preparing for HSK. 3. Prepare all required documents: degrees, transcripts, recommendation letters, passport, domicile/CNIC, research proposal, etc. 4. Take the HAT / USAT test if required by HEC. Ensure your score is valid (within the allowed date). 5. Apply on both HEC portal and CSC portal, if required. Submit your application via HEC (nominating agency) and also via CSC (China Scholarship Council). 6. Try to get a pre‐admission / conditional admission letter from the university (TJU or whichever) before or during application if possible. That strengthens your application. 7.
